Plus, what I could see of the plot was intriguing, as it centers on a young man’s ideas about paving the way for the age of electricity, alongside his older brother; but after losing him and the catalog they created together, he becomes distrustful and a bit insecure. <center>![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/23w2sRE8oLaEpaH4xefqdEbZhziGtHi3b51WfRFTRRdTFJmTK84Gn7evEgfehEza4txXi.png)</center> ### <center>***Sparks of Tomorrow***</center> <center>![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/23w2sRE8oLaEpaH4xefqdEbZhziGtHi3b51WfRFTRRdTFJmTK84Gn7evEgfehEza4txXi.png)</center> Kihachi Sakamoto is a creative and talented young man, but he lost his motivation and confidence after losing his older brother, who, upon leaving for war, took with him a notebook full of ideas they’d created together—a notebook they called the “20th-Century Electrical Catalog.” <center>![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/Eoni64bv2TMvd75P8EPZaQv9pmuuGjY36uT7krZpLrC4vU4HQhtngScdM7aZ2CefjNj.png)</center> <center>[Source](https://www.imdb.com/es/title/tt38939446/mediaviewer/rm2178859266/?ref_=ttmi_mi_2)</center> Now, for those who haven’t seen the anime, it’s important to know that the Japan depicted in the series is set during the Meiji era and the early 20th century, but in an alternate reality where steam reigns supreme—so we see Kyoto, where the anime takes place, filled with steam vents and thick smoke everywhere. For its part, this anime—as I mentioned earlier—caught my attention because of its excellent animation; it’s very well-defined, detailed, and the colors are incredible. Something I absolutely loved is the different shades they give the characters’ eyes and how they highlight certain actions and parts of their bodies at various moments. <center>![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/23vsYmDjUeZrq7dVaAd4R7phFTBk8eZ411Nc4Hx8mvPYinqzgvTMC7Ct3ve4JoQq75VCt.png)</center> <center>[Source](https://www.imdb.com/es/title/tt38939446/mediaviewer/rm687471106/?ref_=ttmi_mi_8_1)</center> This brings me to the humor in this anime; there isn’t a single episode where something funny doesn’t happen—it can come out of nowhere or stem from a memory—and it’s a common, constant feature. Furthermore, *Glimmers of Tomorrow* is based on a light novel written by Hiro Yuki, and the anime was produced by Kyoto Animation. But just because it has humor doesn’t mean it fails to present moments of reflection that move us or make us think about how a person can lose their way from one moment to the next. An example of this is the antagonist, Yosuke Mizoe—a strikingly handsome young man and the heir to a powerful machinery company and empire—who loses himself due to having been overprotected. From what we see, he suffers from anxiety at times, but his breaking point is the loss of his friend Seiroku Sakamoto, which deeply affected him psychologically. <center>![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/EouBgJDGr5YXx8ke3oYLGEt5jBsGwSRj8BbAPcwqqBhdTuK5CWETeHBCD6MKY4aGzAb.png)</center> <center>[Source](https://www.imdb.com/es/title/tt38939446/mediaviewer/rm2245968130/?ref_=ttmi_mi_1_1)</center> It’s interesting to see things that are normal to us—like a battery or having electricity simply by turning on a light bulb or plugging a device into an outlet—but for the characters, these are things that require effort and following a series of instructions. Among the characters, I was captivated by Inako Momokawa, who has a funny and expressive ermine named Inari as her pet; as well as her sister, Noriko Momokawa—the animation of this character was simply enchanting to me, with many delicate details in the attire of Japanese ladies from the Meiji era; and Seiroku Sakamoto, who, as I mentioned, is the protagonist’s brother—a handsome, outgoing, and creative young man. <center>![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/EoeGSAUEYSYNbgTkFLRBNRdxNgYJG5DzJduqSEF3PozbjZEHiBUGCbeqwBxRSsyMo3i.png)</center> <center>[Source](https://www.imdb.com/es/title/tt38939446/mediaviewer/rm3118383362/?ref_=ttmi_mi_2_1)</center> As for the music throughout the anime, there’s one episode that surprised me because of what happened—or rather, because of the way it unfolded with Inako and her friends; it was great, and it also served as the basis for one of the anime’s funniest moments. Finally, I should mention that *Glimmers of Tomorrow* consists of a single season, with an ending that could be described as somewhat open-ended. After reminding us throughout the series that we shouldn’t give up on our dreams so easily, we see many of the characters take new paths and move forward with their lives after confronting their past and healing. Also, from what I’ve read, a second season isn’t expected, since the entire plot of the light novel was developed or adapted across its 13 episodes. I give this anime a 7.5/10. </div> </p></details> <center>![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/23w2sRE8oLaEpaH4xefqdEbZhziGtHi3b51WfRFTRRdTFJmTK84Gn7evEgfehEza4txXi.png)</center> <center>https://youtu.be/deEArwhX4WE</center> <center>![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/23w2sRE8oLaEpaH4xefqdEbZhziGtHi3b51WfRFTRRdTFJmTK84Gn7evEgfehEza4txXi.png)</center> <center>Translat with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)</center> <center>Text splitters [here](https://www.sarahuesca.com/2014/04/separadores-png.html?m=1)/ Divisores de texto [aquí](https://www.sarahuesca.com/2014/04/separadores-png.html?m=1) </center> <center>Original content created for HIVE | | Contenido original creado para HIVE</center> <center>![20220102_1409171.gif](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/mariale07/23uQNxFu4Dv5HXqQTvvFjcUmV8a2ttnCfRqApXNYhZMD6KkCtzWux9Wr2LxrfKGp6yD7e.gif)</center> <center>Gif created with Canva/ Gif creado con Canva</center> <center>![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/23w2sRE8oLaEpaH4xefqdEbZhziGtHi3b51WfRFTRRdTFJmTK84Gn7evEgfehEza4txXi.png)</center> Posted via [HiveSuite](https://hivesuite.app/@actioncats/sparks-ok-tomorrow-review-and-opinion-k77k5o7r)
