A pile of duck eggs was beautifully arranged on a large aluminum plate, covered with paper. These eggs, which were pure white and had a light blue hue, looked so fresh and attractive that it was difficult to look away. The scene of choosing duck eggs standing in the middle of the crowd in the market is quite pleasant. The egg seller is examining the eggs one by one and arranging them on the plate. There are several easy ways to identify fresh duck eggs. Good eggs are usually slightly larger in size and their shells feel slightly rough when touched. The shells of old or spoiled eggs are often smooth. The seller was carefully handling the eggs so that no broken or cracked eggs would end up in the buyer's bag.  Duck eggs have a special place in our native culture and cuisine. There are few people who do not like to eat duck eggs fried, roasted with hot rice or thin broth on a winter morning. Especially the dark yellow color and chewy texture of duck egg yolks enhance the taste of any dish many times over. Housewives sometimes find these fresh duck eggs in the market to change the taste of the kitchen. Although the experience of buying duck eggs in today's market is ordinary, there was a kind of authentic Bengali hidden in it. This fresh look of duck eggs and the sincerity of the seller in choosing the eggs reminds us of the well-known tradition of rural Bengal. Finally, after looking at several good duck eggs, I packed them in a bag and set off for home.
